The battery is absolutely replaceable. It's just not easy. Think iPod battery.

If youre talking about the keypa battery. It is replaceable. It is really easy and it uses the same battery as your key fob.. 2016 or 2032 i dont remember

Can this keypad lock the doors while the engine is running? That would be nice for extra security if you have to run back in the house for something while warming up.

That's a good question. My wife's 2008 Escape won't let the car lock with the keys in it, and engine running. My 2000 F-150 allows you to do just what you asked about: start the truck, and lock the door with no problem.

My 2009 F-150 allows the same too. It would be nice if this keypad allowed that feature for cold days and whatnot.
