What tint brand/manufacter do you use?

This is a little topic that has been on my mind for a while now but I cannot make my decision. I'm getting 25%-30% tint and I've been deciding between 3M and Llumar, but I cannot really think of which brand to go with. I'm simply looking for the darkest tint brand of them all (I've seen the difference between two cars that were both 25%, pretty noticeable), while offering good heat protection and no signal interference. What do you guys use and if possible, can you post some pics? Thank you!

That good ol' red (Boss 302), white (GT/CS) and blue (5.0)!

Tint is rated in visible light transmission (VLT) the percentage number (your case 25 percent) is the VLT figure. VLT is basically how much visible light is aloud to pass through the tint, lower percentage number less light(lower number darker windows). technically speaking 25 percent VLT from any brand will be the same darkness. I would suggest that the windows you are speaking of had different VLT values which made them look different, i also find depending on the lighting outside or how you look at the windows can drastically change how dark they look. If you want darker windows go with a 15 percent tint, or 20. From personal experience i found below 20 a little bit annoying for night driving around town, slightly hard to see out side windows when making left turns etc. Both brands you mentioned are reputable and you would be happy with either as far as quality goes. I attached a photo of mine, or i hope i did anyways for your reference. Its 23 percent solar guard

not sure why it made the pic upside down but anyways

That looks nice! How did you get 23%? MS legal is 28% all around but I cant find a shop to do it specifically. I'm already having trouble finding 30% here in New Orleans..

I have had Llumar on my cars since the mid 90's never had a problem with the film, currently have 38% on the front and 28% on the back.

13 GT base, 3.55, Sterling Grey, MGW shifter, BMR LCA's, GT500 AB, silver RTR's, 275/40/19 Michelin pilot super sports, more stereo equipment than I will admit to, more parts to come.

Im in canada, we have no specific laws about how dark tint can be, pretty much officer discretion. Never had a problem with mine, ive got a buddy running 5 percent limo tint all around and hasnt had a problem either. I guess it depends how the cops are around you, and whether they enforce the tint laws much as to how dark you want to go. Have you ever checked out the tint american muscle has? im not sure what kind it is but maybe you could order the darkness you like and have it installed somewhere

Which kind of tint did you get by llumar? The one they offered to me was the metallic one, which I am a little against because I don't want any worries whatsoever about signal interference. Do you have any pictures of your tint that you can post?

Really? Well Canada did a job well done with their tint laws then.

And I've checked out their tints on American muscle, but didn't they only have 5%? And I think if I do that and had someone else install it, I don't think I'd get it warrantied, would I?

ya, i dont think you would get any warranty going that way. My tint was warrantied for the film as well as the work, but they did tell me that the 05-09 mustangs were bad for scratching the tint because the mouldings weren't very soft, and this would not be covered by warranty. for 200 bucks if it lasted me three years and i wanted to replace it and it would cost me another 200 id be okay with that

I apologize I honestly do not remember the specs other than Llumar, but here's a better pic for you.
