My car had the CEL light come on yesterday and it stayed on this morning so I dropped it off at the dealership to get it checked on.
I didn't have a chance to find out what the code was, but they told me I needed a new catalytic converter. My car is bone stock with 13,500 miles on it. Daily driver, never tracked. About 10 miles before the CEL came on, I did experience a very slight loss of power when accelerating onto the freeway. I thought it may have been TC or sloppy shifting on my part. Otherwise the car runs great.
Just wondering what questions I should have for the service dept, when I pick it up. I've been reading on other forums, that usually there is another problem with the engine that can cause a converter to fail prematurely.
