I just started my 2011 stang after sitting for the winter( it snowed early so i only had 1/2 a tank of gas and didnt add any stabilizer)I noticed that when I turn the key whether its starting it or turning the ignition on, I hear what sounds like the fuel pump going (seems loud) then the halo lights in the instruments dim and flicker before it starts, is this normal? When j started it for the first time last night, the needles in the gauges vibrated back and fourth making a weird noise before did their normal routine of maxing out and returning to zero. Issues?
No offense but, put your car away properly next time. You have bad gas and a dead battery from leaving it sit. Fill it up with high octane and take a nice long drive, then fill it up again. Get the oil changed, too, for shiggles.
The vibrating needles is a test mode, which you've no doubt triggered by having sketchy voltage from the weak battery.
Any number of how-tos on storing a vehicle on line if you look.
No offense taken, thank you for the advice. I drove for about 30 miles last night and filled it up with high octane. Also bought a battery tender which I will put on tomorrow night. I'll drive it all day Saturday. Do I need to do anything else to clean out the bad gas?
