Arrow Flowmaster HushPower has the WORST drone!!

With stock cats and H pipe it was bad, but livable for daily driving...Now with my X pipe/Hi flow cats it got ridiculous. Not to mention the cheap looking tips...Needless to say I'm going to order the Corsa AB's or Kooks! Makes my head pound just thinking about it! lol

Stay away from Flowmasters! 1800-2k rpm's daily driving makes me like this guy >>>>>>>>>>

'14 GT Premium Race Red...6spd manual...3.73's...Steeda A/B's...Steeda CAI...Steeda Gus dialed in tune...Forgestar CF5's + Dark Stars out back...Nitto NT555R's...many more mods on the way...

(Sold) '11 GT Kona Blue...6spd manual...3.31's...Steeda CAI...Steeda Gus tune...Lethal O/R X...Corsa Sport A/B's...Enkei PF01's...etc etc

Don't know how you can stand it...Mine are supposed to be the "tame" Flowmasters too! I had Corsa Sports on a previous car and I just remember how nice they were with ZERO drone at all and crazy exhaust note at WOT. That's what I'd like to have in my GT.

OUTSIDE the car they sound GREAT...But inside the car is this pounding resonating sound that I'm getting tired of lol

My bud HAD a set of outlaw axelbacks, but shortly realized he didn't like the drone either. Now he has a set of GT500 mufflers on his. I have only rode in it once and it was no where near the drone of my flows. Maybe you could consider those for a tamer sound. WOT my outlaws SCREAM, and i believe thats how a mustang should sound, but i am from the south. To everyone their own though.

Loud exterior doesn't have to mean loud interior noise also...The reason Corsa costs so much more than Flowmaster is because they do the research to make sure the loud exhaust note stays outside and the resonance doesn't enter the cabin...It's what I should've gone with from the beginning! Anyways...Just posting this thread as an FYI for anyone looking for AB exhaust that doesn't like drone...Do not get Flowmasters if you don't like interior drone!

I haven't heard the hushpower on a Mustang, but I would have to bet that the outlaws are worse. I have them on my car, and have messed around with them to reduce the drone. I insulated the trunk and back seat area, and put wide band muffler clamps around the mufflers, both of which have helped reduce the drone. They sound great outside, but can have some drone inside. I have gotten mine down to a tolerable level. Thinking of adding the BOSS exhaust, curious to see what that will to, I am guessing I might have to switch mufflers, overall might get too loud outside, don't want the extra attention of local law enforcement. :nogrinner

2013 GT 6 spd, GT500 mufflers, BOSS quad exhaust, Roush CAI, Barton shifter & 2 post bracket
CS GT-40 Wheels, Hotchkis sway bars, upper and lower control arms, springs (1.1/1.6 drop) and adj panhard bar KONI yellow struts and shocks J&M caster/camber plates,
BMR Upper control arm mount and lower control arm brackets.

When i got my CAI (cold air intake) it reduced the drone, made the idle deeper, and quicker throttle response.

I love my Outlaws too. I understand the drone part but I found out if I crack the window a bit it reduce it by 30-40%. I used to have Mac axlebacks and they had horrible drone so this is normal to me, beside the drone Outlaws make the 5.0 what it should be, a 5.0

13' Mustang GT 5.0L Grabber Blue 401a, 6spd manual, Brembo brake pkg with Boss radiator, engine oil cooler, Torsen differential & 3.73 gears. Back up camera with Navigation.
Mods - Flowmaster Outlaw, Roush front, side, rear splitter. Roush hood scoop + quarter window louvers, Barton 2 piece shifter bracket

The drone when I had hushpowers was a bit excessive, but the reason I got rid of them was because they popped between slow gear changes. I can't stand popping, dump truck sounding exhaust. The idle was great and so was WOT, but everything else was lacking. On the up side I love my GT500s.

2012 GT Premium, 6spd, 3.73 rear, Steeda shift bracket, GT500 ABs, tint, matte black OTT stripe, Boss shift knob and boot, MMD taillight trim, Infinity speaker upgrade
Previous Mustangs: 91 Lx 5.0 404 rwhp, 93 notch, 98 GTvert slow as hell,99 Gt, 2000 GT, 2001 GT, all manuals and all will be missed, mainly the 91 she was sweet.

Longtubes drastically helped with the drone on my car with Magnaflow Comps. But now instead of drone, it's just really loud even inside the car (about 77 - 78dB from 2000 RPM and up during cruising). But I can live with actual exhaust TONE, not noise.
