before I bought my Roush axlebacks, i looked at loads of videos on Youtube of all the different exhaust brands and setups. they helped in making the decision for me but the videos weren't the only deciding factor, nor should they be. as explained above, sound is very tricky to record accurately, especially using digital media (why many people still prefer analog). and then to playback the recordings through computer speakers or otherwise alters the sound even more.

the only option to get a true, accurate understanding is to hear them all in real life from both inside and outside the car. inside the car sounds nothing like outside the car, as i quickly realized myself. everyone has a different opinion and tolerance on what sounds good to them so while what may be "good or bad" for one person could potentially be flip-flopped with another person.

I hate picking exhaust. It gets real expensive when you get it wrong.

I think asking a company to ad disclaimers about too much drone is just obnoxious. You are looking for exhaust that stands out and is loud.... With exterior noise comes interior noise.. Not trying to be completely rude but you are pointing fingers two directions here and have yet to say I didn't make my decisions based on personal experience and depended on the internet to direct my opinion.... Everyone has there own opinions on what sounds good. AM has done more than really any other distributer by being kind enough to make videos they are also so involved with their customers that they nearly reply to every posting on this forum..... That is by far better customer service than I would ever expect from another distributer online... Next time go to your local car show or strip and pay attention to what others have done and get their opinions in person.

Sorry nsad, I'm not done with AM because of these mufflers only. It's my first set of mufflers from Flowmaster and I picked the wrong ones apparently. I personally think that is in part due to inadequate information on AM site but hey, i could b wrong, hence the request for opinions. Had plenty of dealings with AM, this just happened to b the last.

I'm not familiar with track meets but I'm guessing no one is going to let me take their car for a spin to see how the mufflers sound inside the car. A ride maybe? I must b from another planet thinking a product could be adequately described so one doesn't have to scour the Internet, spend hours trying to get into another persons car, just to put on a set of axel backs. Ignorance is mine!

Yeah mmustang91, the noise outside coming inside is the biggest problem. Really? You think a drivers perspective would be an obnoxious request? So to enjoy the sound coming from the exhaust you have to let someone else drive your car past you while you sit on the roadside and go "wow!"? Yeah, that's a bit sarcastic, sorry . But seriously, if the noise inside was the same as what I hear behind the car, I'd say, it's a little louder than expected, oh well, sounds great anyway!
