Stopped by Carl's Custom Concepts today to check on the progress on the Mustang. Got there in time to see the test fitting of the new hood. Carl decided on the repairs from the orange cone incident to paint the front bumper and not just repair the damaged area - getting rid of the stone chips I picked up. (for those who don't know, two weeks ago a truck dropped an orange cone in the lane right in front of me, doing 70 mph. No where to go and it took out the lower grille, damaged the lower bumper, and broke the chin spoiler. Unlike the pick up, the Mustang couldn't just straddle the cone and let it pass under!)
The plan is to put the car in the Team Detroit Racing display for Autorama in February so he is trying to get the paint ready for that (and since I won't be driving it as much we should be able to protect the paint better).
We talked about how to finish the underside and Carl is planning to do a similar treatment on the underside to match up to the top with the black and red theme continuing underneath.
Thanks everyone. Carl is working on it still, spoke with the manufacturer today about some items and another test fitting tomorrow to make sure that the hood lines up correctly. Hopefully everything is a go tomorrow with the adjustments they went over and the car gets done soon.
Man that hood looks good! Where did you grab it from? Is it a custom build?
It is a new product out from Revelare Designs. They are here in Michigan and I ran into the owner at a show. He had the first prototype on his car, and mine is one of the first production hoods. Definitely will get pictures up when it is done.
