Transmission fluid swap

I just returned from a 1400 mile trip with my car. The car has 6000 miles on it. Its a 2012 Gt 6mt and I have had it for 16 months now and I am the original owner. On my trip I did notice a little whine on the highway and this was with the radio down and the windows up. This could have been from the mgw shifter that was just installed on this trip. I do believe this was because of the thinner QDC fluid that came from the factory. I have never had any problems with this transmission and it shifts just fine But I am concerned about long term effects on this transmission on the thinner fluid. I know there has been many treads and debates on which fluid to go with.

Has anyone used Redline MT-85 this seems like a happy medium between MTL and MT-90?

I haven't heard to much about Royal Purple synchromesh?

Thanks for the help everyone.

I changed mine to Redline and noticed a significant difference. Shifts were smoother and faster than before. I already had a Short Shifter and bracket installed. I was also surprised at the ugly color and odor of the factory fill. Glad to get that out of there!

You could keep the QDC fluid type and add the X-18.

Or go with the BG Synchromesh II. Some really like this. But if going this route, change it often. I hear it begins to degrade after 10K.

But I am no expert.

Me? I fretted and worried and obsessed over what oil to switch to, even ordered some MTL that I have sitting in the garage.

In the end, I refilled with QDC with 1200 miles on the car.
