I don't know about Austin, but here in Tampa you can actually rent a 5.0 from Budget...all are automatics...why not rent one for a week and see how it goes, I get tired of shifting my Cobra, Tampa is the land of stop lights so the automatic M45 is really nice on hot, long working days...just roll

good idea, I might just rent one to see!

premium vs non-premium is it about 4k difference?

the location thing for me actually I am in Vegas, was going to move to AUstin but moved to Vegas instead.

I just bought a 2011 GT MT82. I'm satisfied with the transmission so far.

"Price" does not include taxes and registration fees, but should include everything that the dealer charges you. Make sure when you get a price, they are including all dealer "documentation" fees or whatever else they call it.

A note about renting one: if you look on line, in the Hertz "adrenalin" collection, you will see the rental price is quite high . . . but if you walk in to a Hertz counter where they have the cars, and they have one available, you can negotiate a much better price . . . just go in and tell them you were thinking about renting a Mustang GT and play hard to get . . . should be around $100/day or maybe less.
