Bluetooth audio text/metadata displaying

I know this as been discussed before, but I figured I would ask again since its been a while since I have heard any updates.

As anyone been able to get the bluetooth audio text to dislay from their phones instead of "Bluetooth Audio Streaming" displayed on their head units?

I know that it is not an issue with our phones, but most likely sync itself. It is a bit frustrating because ever since I got my 2013 model, ford has not released a single update to sync. So much for "regular updates"

Thanks in advance guys

Hi moto2000,

I can confirm that the basic SYNC systems are not capable of showing information on the screen while connecting via Bluetooth audio. You may hear of some Ford vehicles allowing Bluetooth song information to appear on the screen; however, this is a phone dependent feature through MyFord Touch systems.

Although I am unable to speculate on future SYNC updates, I can suggest checking here periodically to stay informed: Welcome to SYNC Owner to Owner!

It's not a huge deal to me, but I must say that I'm disappointed that my mustang w/ Nav, Sync, etc.... that cost $40k can't do it, and almost every rental car ( think Altima, Corolla, Cruze) I get while traveling for work can display BT info. What's up with that?

Thumbs down

It's frustrating how far behind sync on the mustang is compared to other ford models.

I find this a little frustrating as well. But think about it for a second..it's a muscle car, not a dinky economy family car. Music is nice, but I'd rather listen to what's up front, and you certainly don't need meta data to let you know what that is Vrooom!

I have sync on my '13 Explorer and it has same issue - no text info using bluetooth audio, no idea what song is playing.

I just use the usb with memory sticks since they are so cheap and there are 2 usb slots in the Explorer.
