ABS and Traction Control Lights On

I have a 2012 V6 that has had intermittent traction control issues since 9000 miles, it now has 54,000. Traction Control light illuminations and engages ABS system while driving. It typically happens between 30 -40 mph while driving straight down the road. A few occasions while turning left onto freeway on ramps. I live in Phoenix so it never is wet here to have tire spin from wet surfaces. One time it also illuminated the "Service Advance Trac". The dealer said codes are non specific and can not figure it out. They are guessing speed sensor or Yaw (?) sensor but wont replace without a definitive diagnosis. Last week when it occurred it completely locked the brakes up and I could not go over 20 mph. Anyone else with this problem? I have wrecked the car into a curb once while it was doing it and now with brakes locking up while going down the road I am desperate to find a solution before my car kills me.

Well, it sounds like the dealer has zeroed in on the issue and now they just need to act.

If they aren't getting a definitive diagnosis from the codes they are seeing then about the only thing left to do is start replacing the sensors.

You can contact Ford customer service and get them involved, maybe they can get the dealer moving since it is definitely a safety issue.

I remember in one of my older Mustangs, that light would pop on when my brake fluid levels were getting low. Might want to check on that in the meantime.

I think this is a common problem. Same thing is happening to my '11. Got customer service involved and still hasn't been fixed. 30K miles since mines been doing as you described. Ford keep my car for 5 days, drove it 35 miles and the light didn't come on for them. 2 days later it did and I called to try to take it in so they could run the codes since the light came on and they said no tech's available. Pretty frustrated myself.

It is happening frequently enough now I finally got it to the dealer while the lights were still on. Mechanic hooked up the computer and it showed nothing. We took a ride his computer hook up and it did it and still showed nothing!!! They are calling out someone from Ford and if and when they figure it out I will post in hopes it doesn't take you as long to find a solution as it did me.

reviving this thread, just bought myself an 05 V6 and also has the same problem. ABS and TC lights are on. Scanner did not register any codes.
I also noticed that the hand brake light is always on even of the hand brake is all the way down. Could a faulty switch cause these lights to turn on?

E, i would take apart your console where the handbrake & TC buttons reside and look for a bad connector idk but I'll say yes to the switch guess

2012 V6 traded in for a 2017 VW GTI.

Yeah, if you remove your center console - or at least the part under the shifter, you will see a part of the wiring harness with a plug that goes to (or near) the e-brake mechanism. Take a look at the plug, unplug it, spray it with some electrical contact cleaner, and maker sure it is securely mounted and no wires are messed up. If that plug is malfunctioning, it would definitely light your ebrake light and may even cause your advance trac light to come on.

Look at the photos I posted in this thread for an idea of what Im talking about:
