I have this issue as well but I pretty much know this is my fault since my iPod is loaded up past the recommended 10,000 songs and all the titles are screwed up. I'm sure if I hammered out a few hours of iTunes organization, it would work perfectly. There is also a little tool called Sync my iTunes or something like that that can help out.

I guess I'm in the minority but I have the HTC One M8 and I have 0 issues, everything works as it should, voice commands and all. Maybe I'm just used to using voice commands from my computer and Xbox though. I love sync. I also have a pre made playlist, just for when I drive, that comes in handy.

I have a Galaxy S4. I just got to learning about how to pair my phone up. A few weeks ago, I tried and it wasn't working. No phonebook or numbers, no text, but at some point I had texts, then lost them.

Anyways, I performed a reset, and removed the phone from the car. The dealership did it the first time to show me how to do it. So I did it myself, and it's flawless. Texts and phone calls are great in this car. The engine is better though.

Hi Brisoup,

I have confirmed with a supervisor that our engineering team is aware of the text message issue. Unfortunately, there are currently no settings within your SYNC system which will resolve this. It has something to do with the format of the text information and how it is sent to the SYNC system. My best recommendation is to keep your software up-to-date (both on the phone and on SYNC. Check for SYNC updates at: SYNC Technology | SYNC Support | Ford.com after logging in.

If your software is currently up-to-date, check out this link for some basic troubleshooting steps: Troubleshooting tips for SYNC and SYNC with MyFord | SYNC & SYNC with MyFord | Ford.com Send me a PM with your VIN if the issue continues. I'll take a closer look.

It sounds like you're already on the right track, Elite_Deforce. Sync My iTunes is a great tool to organize your music information. The tool is located at the bottom of this page: https://support.ford.com/tools/account/sync-software Keep in mind that you must be logged into your account first.

I'll add that it seems to help a bit, but it is definitely not a cure. Manual organization is the key.

Thanks for the info Kim. The issues I have with Sync is minor. Not worth going to the Dealer over. My Mustang is already registered with Sync and it says my Sync is current. Anyways, I'll try with some recomedations I've read on here. Thanks everybody for your help!

Sync gives me problems 5% of the time. It actually works pretty well, for what it's supposed to do.

And my phone connects fine. I'll even use remote start with my car and while I'm on the phone, SYNC will hook up my call from phone to Bluetooth as I'm getting in, without me pushing any buttons. Voice recognition also works pretty well.

Hi blkandgud,

If SYNC begins acting up, let me know. I'm happy to help troubleshoot. I'm glad to hear that you've been enjoying the system.

Yup, so far, but I haven't had the car for long (over a year) so I hope it keeps working well! But so far no complaints here.

My only problem with the text messaging is that the reply responses are not suitable 80% of the time. I would like SYNC to recognize my speech so i can make my own replies. If it can do it for iPod tracks...

I am fairly certain that in Canada most of the Sync features are disabled so all my sync is good for is playing music and making calls lol No text messages, no maps, after the first 3 days i stopped even trying.

The best solution i have is that instead of syncing my phone i bought a 32gb flash drive and connected that via the USB A, and am considering just plugging in a hard drive in the secret USB B port (its behind the glove box after you take it out)lol

I just push AUX, and it goes right to USB and works great 95% of the time. I prefer not to take calls while driving anyway, and keep the bluetooth on my iphone off to save battery life anyway. If i need to i turn it all on and make a call.

Currently, you are only able to respond and edit preset text messages on the MyFord Touch system. Send me a PM with your name, VIN, mileage, and phone number if you would like me to document your feedback for your type of SYNC system.

Although SYNC Services are not available in Canada, you do still have the text message option available. To see a list of Canadian carriers, click the link in the upper right hand corner of this chart: SYNC and Phone Compatibility | SYNC Support | SYNC & SYNC with MyFord | Ford.com To see which phones support text messaging, click SMS TEXT MESSAGING on the left.
