Front Bumper (replace or repair?)

I came to my car to see that it has been hit on the front bumper.

After calming myself down, (it took awhile)

I began thinking, is this damage something I can repair at a shop or is it more practiccal to replace the fornt bumper cover. Anyone else been through this???

I am trying to post pics

If you are able to track down a stock black front bumper cover, it is not very hard to remove the front bumper cover and swap it out.

Agreed, I throw a new factory Ford bumper cover on as well. Repairing the damage would be more work than prepping the new one for paint.

Damn, that sucks man.

Yeah, you have some deep gouges there. This isn't simply a matter of repainting it, unfortunately.

Garage
Contact Saleen. I purchased a take off bumper from them a few years ago. They may have one for you.

I thought Saleen only makes performance items, not things like stock bumpers. I will try the website

It looks like something I can do myself (uninstall/install, right)

Ho wmuch would a good paintjob cost?

Bumper cover installation is relatively simple. There are plenty of guides online.

The paint job itself would probably cost between $300-500 (at least around here). But since the plastic has been gouged out they would need to fix that first so it would add to the cost.

if you can find a painted takeoff it'll be semi-cheap. I've never done one but it should be just simple wrenching...however since it is large and fragile (scratchs) there will be times you want a 2nd pair of hands.

2012 V6 traded in for a 2017 VW GTI.

Any recommendations of vendors to go to to get bumper covers???? Besides Saleen?

I figure I would just buy a new one and if it's not already painted (finished) get it painted

I had a similar accident and need to replace the bumper cover. Total repair bill is just shy of $900 but I also have stripes to repaint on the cover.

There is a foam bumper under the cover not much else, Roush also sells stock take-off parts.

Here is a video of how to remove it... This should take about an hour to take off and put back on taking your time.
