I would for a low mile 08 or 09 depending on the color, number of owners and price.

I voted no because I love my car to much. I would maybe trade her in for a 13 or 14. I would be interested to know AC if you would trade your black beauty in for one.

lol tough choice... I don't think I will, but a 2008/09 Shelby GT500 sterling grey with black stripes and low miles is very tempting tho...
It would be hard to let go my 2011 GT/CS, as I've been doing so many changes in it...
Really tough choice for sure.

I voted no. I'd rather S/C my 5.0. I don't like the 05-09 body style or interior at ALL.

-Roush Axle-backs

No, I like the interior of the later S197's too much to go backwards.

Although, I must admit, a very low mileage pristine example might be tempting.

The interior of the 05-09s is really a downgrade, I think we'll all agree on that.

Personally I would never consider it. My 5.0 has the options I wanted and too many expensive upgrades. The Coyote motor is amazing even in stock form and the car itself is miles ahead of any 05-09. They are very close in any form of drag race and the 5.0 is faster around a track. I do really like those GT500's but rather have a 13/14 Shelby if anything.

2011 GT 5.0 6M Brembo 3.73 Performance White - Bama X4 V2 91P, On3 Performance OR/X, Res Delete, GT500 AB, Axle Exchange DS, AEM Intake, Full BMR Rear, Koni Yellows, Eibach Pro Kit, Steeda Tri-Ax, Many more...

1970 Mach1 351 Cleveland M Code Numbers Matching Gone 60 paint - 5 Speed Tremec, MSD Blaster, Flowmaster, Ram Air, Many more...

Previous - 2005 Mustang GT, 1995 F350, 2003 Ram 1500...

Dang! I don't know if I'm more envious of all the cool cars you have or the garage you must have to put them in.

I voted no. The 2011+ 5.0 really closed the performance gap with the pre '13 GT500 and for a 10K investment in mods I could easily surpass one. The interior changes are a big improvement too. And I could buy my car all over again with what it would cost me to trade for a '13-'14 GT500.

The interior is the main reason why I never liked that generation. Just waaaayyy too cheap and plasticy for me.

I'm in the minority here...but I would trade in my modified 2011 Mustang GT for an immaculate, SUPER low miles 2007-09 Shelby GT500.
The purchase/trade would not be based on performance/comfort/technology...it would be for the eternal "cool" factor that comes with the Shelby badge.

Imagine your fixed up, 2011 Black Beauty parked next to a shiny 2009 Shelby GT500 at a car show or any parking lot. 10 out of 10 times, the crowd or onlooker will gravitate to the Shelby GT500 and wished that they owned one. They'll say that your car is "cool", but the Shelby parked next to you is "way, waayyyy cooler"...it's a RESPECT thing...You would belong to an exclusive club!!!

Plus, I would definitely modify the GT500!!! lol

Something like this:

I was a little torn but ultimately the answer is no for me. I like the interior of the 11-14 way better. The coolness factor of owning a Shelby would be awesome but I like my ride. Besides, I'm a short few mods away from laying down that same power at the wheels anyway. May as well keep what I got since I have an 11 with only 18k miles on it. (and it's kinda still under warranty until October)

2011 Yellow Blaze GT Premium / Boss Intake Manifold/ BBK 85MM Throttle Body / 3.73 gears / BBK ceramic coated Long Tube headers / Catted X pipe / Roush Axle Backs / JLT CAI
