Cervini cobra R hood question

I just purchased a Cervini Cobra R hood and wanted to know if anyone who has one ever installed the Redline tuner gas hood shocks and do they work well? I was told by Cervini they have never tested them on their hoods before. I have these on my stock hood and really want to use them again. Cervini tried to sell me their hood shocks but I really don't like the way they look.

they should work fine. Most aftermarket hoods weigh less than factory so that shouldnt be an issue. Good luck and post pics when done!

The Cervini hoods actually weight more than the factory hoods.

I found this about the MMR struts. on a BBR hood not Cervini. I read that the Redline does not have any pressure on the hood when closed which is a good thing.

The redline hood struts don't work unless you purchase the aftermarket mounting bracket which are riveted in your hood. Your better off buying the ones that use the hood mount bolts! The Cervinis hood is about 10-15 pounds heavier then the stock hood. The stock hood is surprisingly light. Love my cobra r hood. One note , you will not be able to pop your wipers up as the cowl extends into that space!

Thanks everyone, good information! I'll not use the redline struts but instead purchase the correct set up.
