Strut Tower Brace

Do the strut tower brace really improve things that much? Or are they more for looks?

Could you clarify what it made a difference on?

Tim and GT1120

I can personally attest to how much of a difference a tower brace will make on the 05-14's. It's going to help stiffen the front suspension by providing added support to the strut towers, preventing flex during cornering and in turn making you a much happier more confident driver. By using this you're going to make the chassis that much more rigid which would equate to that much better handling.

We have a wide variety of Strut Tower Braces available here and it's definitely something that I would recommend picking up!

let me know if you have any questions and I'm here to help!

It just tightened the entire car up during daily driving...it just feels more glued to the road. Car suspension and tires are stock. The car just felt very soft and the steering had a lot of play while cornering on highways and such. Spent the $100 or so on one to try before I jumped into suspension work and it fixed my major complaints.

Since I've never been able to see a stock one, are the aftermarket ones much better than stock?

I installed the 3 point shock tower brace on my 1999 GT. It connected both towers and to the firewall. I experienced immediate improvement in handling and cornering by stiffening up the frame. Worth it!

you can get the BOSS 302 Strut Brace on sale for $100 at CJ Pony Parts.... you will not find it cheaper and it is genuine Ford part.

I installed that brace on my Pony Package V6 and looks like it came with the car, real nice piece. I looked at Ford Racing and Steeda as well, but even at full price, the BOSS brace was still cheaper.

I put an OEM one on my 14 GT soon after I bought it. I really didn't notice any difference after the install but then again, I didn't drive on any winding roads before the install so maybe that is why.

If you want a factory STB, I bought mine off of Ebay from a place that had new takeoffs. I think mine was $99 shipped. Sometimes people on the different Mustang forums will sell one. I like how they look so I'm glad I installed one.

It made a difference on mine. Noticeable on rapid tight turns.

Back when I had the V6 I installed a STB, the GT came with one stock.

Before the STB the car felt like the front wheel on the inside of a turn was going to lift off, the whole car kind of floated. After the STB the whole front end felt a lot more planted and handling seemed much better.

As far as which STB is better, you are on your own, I only ever had the OEM Boss/V6 STB.

Not sure if I can install one at this time because of the supercharger setup. Just thought if they made a big difference I might move a few things around.
