Sway Bar Bushings Replaced

The rear sway bar bushings on my GT had to be replaced at 39,500 miles. My dealer said that premature sway bar bushing wear is a common problem on late model Mustangs.

The symptom is a clunking noise from the rear suspension. I did not notice the noise, but my dealer found the sway bar to have play during a routine inspection. The sway bar play was not reported during an inspection 10,000 miles earlier.

The cost was $100 out of pocket with the extended service plan.

I wanted something better than stock ones so I replaced them with these http://fordracingparts123.com/chassi...wb-m-5490-hwb/
They fit Brembo pkg sway bars, regular GTs would use these http://fordracingparts123.com/chassi...wa-m-5490-hwa/

Mine only lasted about 20,000 KILOMETERS before Ford had to replace them. No big deal, it was free and in for an oil change anyway. Why they made you pay is a mystery to me; it is a well known issue. Energy makes poly replacements for these bushes at about $24 for the full rear set.
