Forget about miles per tank, it is useless for comparison since everyone's definition of "tank" is different . . . MPG on the computer is a half decent basis for comparison ; calculated MPG is better.
"Granny shifting" would be keeping the RPM's below 2,000 like the automatic does . . . probably can squeeze out a bit more.
I think it is great to be able to get decent fuel economy and have fun with the car too.
I am a bit surprised that nobody seems to be able to beat the EPA estimates on the 2011+ cars ; it happens all the time with the 2010- cars with the 4.6 engine.
