Thoughts on this backup camera option

So after backing my car into our truck a couple days ago (ouch!) I've decided I really need a backup camera. I'm going to use the costal tech "Lock pick" to tie into thte factory nav, but they no longer sell cameras. So they directed me here...

https://camera-source.com/products/u...ted-camera-kit

What do you guys think of this? I like that its recessed into the bumper, but then again, I have to cut a hole in the bumper. They also have a license plate camera, but it's not nearly as "finished".

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

I just put the Camera Spoiler on mine, it was the only option that was not on the car when I got it that I wanted. It seemed all the rest of the options for a rear camera did not look good to me.

Maybe you just need a backup sensor. Worked great on my 2012 and wish I could have it on my 2014. Think it was a $395 factory option.

Love the looks of it myself, heard it was pretty pricey though.

Estimate to fix car is $899...ugh.

Considered that, but the ones I saw have black dots all along the bumper. Didn't like the looks.

Just curious - which ones did you see?

Spoiler was under $300+$100 to paint plus the cost of Lock Pick. You might be one of the lucky ones that has the harness already, I had to make mine.
Still cheaper than the $500 deductible.

I confirmed I do not have the harness. I ordered the lock pick last night. Still debating on the camera. It would be a heck of a lot easier if there was a way to go straight from the spoiler camera to the lock pick instead of having to use a harness and messing with the cars wiring, like if it was just a power/ground wire and a signal wire.

I have the camera spoiler as well, and its great, just make sure if you get a camera like that to mount it as close to the center of the car as possible. Friend of mine drove a Stang that he mounted a camera like that on, and he mounted it on the left hand side and it distorted the image pretty bad.

I am just buying the whole Raxiom nav and rear camera set up that plugs directly in to the OE harness.

My harness runs from the Camera to the plug in the Right Kick panel, I put pins on the wires and ran it into the location that the stock wires would have been at. Plugged in the lock pick and everything worked after set up.

Ok, you talked me into it. Theres a couple on Ebay right now for $245. I'm just going to hold off on the repairs and enjoy the car the rest of the season then have them paint the spoiler when I get the car fixed. I'm sure I'd never be truely happy with an aftermarket unit anyway. Hope you don't mind a few e-mails along the way...

Email away, I will help with what I can and point you in the right direction for the wire and the plug needed for the harness from the Spoiler.

Thanks, very much appreciated.

Is this the correct part # for the harness?

AU2Z-14S411-BNA

I'm going to run power off the lock pick.

Where can I get the pins to make the video signal connection? (Pin 21/22) I saw one of the guys just cut/solder the wire but I'd prefer the pins. I know you said you stole them off another harness, I don't have any laying around though.

Thanks!
