3dCarbon GT500 Install

Overall pretty easy. I ordered the spoiler through CJPonyParts and it came in 2 days - I was shocked at how quickly it arrived. Box was a bit beat up (most certainly the delivery company) but the packing was excellent so no issues. All hardware was included and the paint is a perfect match.

Getting the old spoiler off was a bit of a pain. I used 40lb fishing line as others recommended and that worked great. At one point in the beginning when lifting up the far side I heard a 'crack' but after getting the spoiler off the old one was in perfect shape and I think it was the thread on the screw rubbing past the lip of the hole it was coming out of. So if you are doing this and hear the same thing don't worry about it.

Getting the fishing line through the sticky stuff in the middle section was a bit of a challenge but I taped it to a long, thin wooden skewer and was able to get it through right next to the screw while pulling up.

I did use a hard plastic putty spreader and it may have scuffed the paint a bit under the spoiler. Not a big deal but if you get a soft one that might be a better option for pushing the glue/foam out of the way near the screw.

Overall, I like it. The stock one was too stubby for me. Here is a picture of it installed.

That looks great, thinking of picking one up myself. Hows the fit and finish?

I thinks it looks as good as my OEM spoiler. It holds down with just the 4 bolts and the stripping on the underside doesn't adhere to the trunk. That makes it easy to install and line up perfectly but I wonder if any water can get under it. I'm assuming no unless someone is pressure washing it. It's really tight to the body so I'm not worried about it. I've tried to wiggle it and it doesn't move. I hope that helps.

Looks nice. I'm thinking of getting the 3dcarbon lower rear valence for my 2011. Never been crazy about the black plastic.
