It was very chilly last night here in the northeast and it reminded me that winter was right around the corner. This means I'll have to start thinking about getting snow tires for my GT as I'll be using it all year round. What snow tires do forum members use? When I had my '86 GT I think I used Blizzak.
I think any real snow tire will do fine; NOT an all season tire. Last time I drove my GT through the winter I had some no-name tires (Cooper maybe?) and they worked great. Blizzaks or something might be even better.
Probably more important is that you keep the width relatively narrow -- definitely not more than 235 ; 225 or even 215 is better if you have any significant accumulation of snow. Go with a slightly higher aspect ratio to keep the overall diameter roughly the same, or a little taller, than your stock tires.
I have 255/40/19 Blizzak LM60s, Highly recommend them! And no complaints about running a wider tire in the snow.
