Borla and Bassani are Racing Exhaust Manufactures... Cats are ANTI performance Objects thats why they dont make catted Xpipes.

Not entirely, both make street exhaust parts for many applications.

The reason they both gave for not offering catted pipes is that they wouldn't be street legal anyway since the cats would be relocated so they wouldn't bother making them.

And current performance catalytic converters give up very little HP.

Most people agree but the high flow cats cut down on smell, black soot around the tailpipe and mellow out the sound. That would be the only reasons I could think about. That and a good high flow cat doesn't rob any noticeable power.

Only if the rear O2's aren't turned off in the tune.

Tek and Nitro, congrats guys. They sound awesome. It is amazing the difference in sound the borla catback makes though. I wonder what this would sounds like with just my FRPP axle backs??? My real question though is do you really notice the performance increases when driving? How so? Whats the torque like? I love my v6, but more than the horses in the 5.0, i miss the torque. So just curious as to your feelings about how it drives. Thanks guys and great videos from both of you

Don't think I needed to retune, but I did anyways. I already had my 93 race tune in when I installed the headers and my engine light didn't come on while driving the whole day, but I figured it would be safe to get it retuned so I did it the next day. As for performance I could feel a slight decrease in torque, but when you let it rip on the freeway it makes up for it. Overall the way the car drives wasn't affected too much.

I would be curious to know if your mpg changes for the better with the LT headers in place.
