Took the 'stang to the dealer and will have to go back for warranty work

So I took my mustang in to the dealer for a routine 5000 mile oild change, tire rotation, filter change, and after the work was done I was getting ready to head home. The wife starts to adjust the passenger seat and we both hear a horrible grinding noise from the electric motors. We decided to go back inside and see if the service guys can take a look.

They are filling out a report with Ford now and it looks like they will have to call me once the work gets authorized and the parts are ordered.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.

My drivers seat in my expedition started to make a lot of noise at around 10k. Motor was changed under warranty, all has been well since.

This is the first car I have with power seats so I've been leery of the motors breaking down.

That passenger seat hardly gets used, hopefully I can get this fixed soon.

I've got an 11 Shelby with power seats ... but I've had other Mustangs with power seats and no problems.

This is a fairly common problem it seems. The motors they use are probably 99 cent jobs from China and appear to quit for no reason. One of the motors in my passenger seat makes a horrendous screeching noise and needs to be replaced. I will be getting it taken care of after winter. It has literally been used no more than 5 times.

Well the dealer service guys got all defensive when I told them the seat hadn't been making noises before, so it might have been war

No harm no foul though, just going to keep the car nice and clean for when I trade it in in 18 months.
