2nd gear lockout leads to autocross spinout (vid)

I can't get into 2nd gear off the start and then over-drive the course until I spin out (after the 1 minute mark). For some reason I think the video of the spin out is really funny:

On a more serious note: 2nd gear lockout is really annoying. Damn you Ford.

Where I think I get late or drive indecisively only a few times. Disclaimer: My times are generally not competitive.

Also, that sound your hearing is the Airaid intake.

Also, y'all need to go auto-crossing if you have never done it. So much damn fun.

Shift bracket would probably help you with your 2nd gear issue.

Nice runs, no doubt Auto-x is a blast, and like the others, would recommend trying it out if you haven't yet. My instructor told me if you never spin out you're not pushing enough, he also told me to short shift into second, and indeed that did improve my times. I pretty much stay in second for most of the course. Which brings me to gears, I think a 3.55 setup just might be perfect for auto-x. Good luck and have fun fellers.

I'm running an auto. My video shows a 2nd gear start and I stayed in 2nd the entire time.

Next time out, I'm going to do a 2st gear start and shift to 2nd, and stay there. I advise getting a gear swap. I'm running 3.73s.
