Switching form Bama tunes to ???

Okay after multiple Bama tunes... I'm still not getting anywhere.

I am looking at MPT or Steeda. MPT I get 1 tune for $75. Steeda $150 for another "lifetime tune" deal.

Christ I wish I had of bought my tuner from MPT then I'd have 3 free tunes from them.

Anyway. Those who have tried MPT and Steeda both. What are your experiences with them?

Thanks!

If you would have bought the tuner from Steeda ... we would have given you the tunes too.

I will let the others weight and provide their feedback ... in the meantime ... do a search for Steeda tunes and you will be very pleased with the results. 0 issues from a warranty perspective ... great customer support ... etc.

Best Regards,

TJ

Ford will not care if I bring my car in for service with the Steeda tune in place? Seriously?

NEVER take your car in with an aftermarket tune.

Its not the matter if they care or not. They are liable to update your pcm while the car is in their possession. This will delete your custom tune and you will lose it.

JT,

I'm sorry you're having issues to begin with! Have you gotten a chance to talk to a Bama Tuning Specialist about the most current tune issues? I'm sure they'll be able to iron out any problems you're experiencing after assessing a datalog.

I'd love to work with you and the Bama Team until we get this straightened out. In fact, I've already looked up your info in our system and sent it to one of my best Bama Tuners. He's going to go over your current tunes and see what adjustments or tweaks can be made. You can expect a call from him by the end of the day with some updates!

Feel free to give me a shout if there's anything at all I can assist you with. We value all of our customers equally and want to make sure they receive the experience they deserve!

Shane

I only have experience with BAMA and MPT. Ran BAMA for 2 years to a best of 13.883 @ 100mph as my halo run. Averaged 13.9 -14.0 for the most part after 40 passes. With no other changes to the car besides tune swap, ran a 13.6 @ 102 on MPT tune. Weather was the same if not worse.

This is not correct. The only time the PCM is updated at the dealer is when the vehicle comes in for a drivability issue and a reprogram is required or if a TSB, SSM, or FSA (recall) requires it. By no means will a Ford dealer reprogram your PCM just because it's in their possession.

I believe that. MPT is strong like bull. I wish they would come in here and tell us a little about how they do it, or at least discuss their tuning process.

Shane -

Shane we've already done all of that.

Every time I get a new tune - the car is slower. My latest 93 tune now has the car running a 6.3 second 0-60 in cool morning air.

My idle was all jacked up on the previous tune from Bama. And I was hoping you guys could get the performance back. So I did some data logs - sent them in.

I got a new tune - the email said he fixed the idle.

I asked if there was anything else done and he said no.

At this point I'm running 93 octane for no reason. I either want a tune that does something or just go back to stock and run 87.

After I got the first tunes I realized I had made a mistake. Went to the AM website to see what it said about returns. Of course no returns on tuners.

Um yea this is what im talking about. If you take the car in for whatever concerns they may reflash. you need to be prepared and remove the custom tune just in case. There has been complaints on this forum of the dealer reflashing the computer making the tuner useless... just tune it back to stock before taking it in. It will save you a headache.

TJ,

I spoke with Don from Bama and he filled me in or your conversation. He also mentioned there were some tune adjustments he found that should help. However, if this latest tune doesn't do the trick I will get our lead Bama Calibrator involved.

We'll continue to work with you until the tune is dialed in perfectly. I am confident we'll be able to get your tune operating right where you want it!

Keep me updated with your latest tune, so I know where we stand. Also, please let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with!

Shane
