Airaid CAI Question

From my understanding, there is an insert that comes with this intake so that a tune is not required. If you have a tuner, should this insert be taken out to allow more air to pass through? If this is the case, when taking your car to the dealer and returning your cars tuner back to stock, do you need to take the CAI off and put the tube back inside the intake?

The insert that you are talking about is on the Airaid intake for the 5.0 V8 not the 3.7 V6. The Airaid CAI for the 3.7 doesn't require a tune and does not have an insert to limit the airflow.

No insert for the V6. There is only a plug if you have an MT.

Removing the CAI depends on your dealer's local policy. Ford as a whole has a policy for not honoring warranties if they see mod's, but then there's all kinds in's and out's on it where the law is concerned. Plenty of threads here. Try the search tool. Long story short, call your dealer before taking a chance with the car, and ask them. If they don't care, then you have no worries.

+1 cannonballer, just call the dealer service department and ask if a specific aftermarket part will void any warranty. If that dearer is not mod friendly, call another in the area. First one I asked said CAI wouldn't void anything. good luck
