Jacking up front end

I was getting ready to do my first oil change on my 2012 V6 and rolled the floor jack under the car and couldn't find a good spot to place the floor jack. I was worried I would damage something. I have been changing my own oil for 40 years and had never had this problem. Any info would be appreciated.

I always just put the jack pad under the crossmember tube.

Of course for oil changes I use ramps, so much easier than messing with the jack and jack stands.

There is a Spot right in the middle of the K Member that I use to jack mine up, I use a 2X4 on the jack and have been using it on my 13 as well as my old 10.

Can you pull up on ramps with low front end spoiler?

That's a tuffy. I've only used ramp on the rear. Behind your front tires there is a junction of steel framing. Put a piece of plywood between the jack and car just to protect metal. Look under there youlle see the safe spot I'm talking about. Or google search like I did.

I can on those plastic ramps you can buy at stores. Jeffersonville huh, I think that's the closest forum member I've seen in 3 years being on this forum.

I can, but if your car is lowered you can put a board or two in front of the ramps to get the car up a little so it doesn't drag going up on the ramps.

I always jack up the section along the sides where there are slots sectioned out for what looks like a jack would go on. They fit perfectly with jack stands as well.

My GT is lowered, so it is driven up on two 2'x10" x 2'.5" long, with tapered ends to drive up on them and get it high enough to get my jack under it, then as others have mentioned jack the front up directly in the center of the cross member, running side to side under the engine. Stands are placed where the "K-Frame" at the widest point where they meet the body.

Rear, jacked from the center of the differential (always being careful not to place the jack any part of the jack's lift cradle on the axles stamped steel rear cover, jack it up and place the stands under the axle tubes just inside the outer axle mounts etc. Very stable...you can rock the heck out of it and get no movement...

There is no such thing as to much horespower..!!
