Same problem for me. I can't even get potential competitors to make eye contact with me.

I get people lining up against me at least once or twice a week. And that's just on my daily commute! It's always a Civic with a ****** exhaust or a G series that has to show off. For the first few months it was funny (since my last car was an NA Forester), but after I pulled on them all time after time it really got to be annoying. The only one that I have fun with is a guy with a 335i with an N54 (or N55? I haven't stopped him yet to ask) that gives me a solid run for my money every time. The rest of them are always Hondas or Infitinitis with over-sized wheels and a fart can that think a v6 Mustang is easy prey. I rarely line up against anyone now unless they have something special.

It happens to me a lot.

It is ridiculous when people driving a Civic, Fit, Jetta TDI, Highlander, Mini Cooper, trying to race you.

I have been driving performance cars for many years. Ive always gotten challenges to show what my car can do from many other drivers. And yes many of them are sitting in Honda Civics, Toyotas, Neons, mini vans and the like. You have to remember that many of these people drive everyday cars, and have everyday experience. Bottom line. They want to see your car go. More than likely, watching you smoke the tires is the closest they will ever come to having any interaction with a performance car, as many of them are unable to accommodate that into their chosen lifestyle.
When you drive a Mustang, you are often seen as someone who drives a car for fun. As most cars are just that, vehicles used for transportation only from pint A to point B, people often dream about what it may be like to be able to drive a car for other than just transportation purposes.
When I drive my GT with the Procharger, I like to think of it as a "shark in a minnow tank" analogy. And my V6 Mustang, especially since I decided to add a few mods, rivals that position.
So drive your Mustang, and enjoy it. And enjoy the attention.

As cars go, we are definitely in a minority. And personally, that's the way I like it.

Just this morning I had to put some little civic si in its place by putting at least 5 cars on him from a stop. This is just an observation I have made since buying my car, just wondering if it's only me or if it happens to others as well. Not complaining about this happening but I just find it interesting.
OMG! Thank-you! Someone who actually experiences what I go through everyday I drive; at least here near the university. Ever since my Mustang was "murdered", I get tailgaters and idiots in imports revving their engines at me while sitting in traffic on the opposite side. When I mean "murdered", my wheels are dipped, emblems are dipped, and tint is nearly limo tint.

Don't forget Neon SRT4, SRX, Cobalt SS, Accord V4/V6, Ram 1500, Odyssey, Yaris, Corolla, Prius, etc.

Funny thing is Camaro's and Challenger's here are one of the nicer type of drivers toward Mustang drivers like myself. They don't tailgate or "race" you.

I see it's a common thing here. At least people will learn not to mess with a 3.7

Ever watch a large dog and a small dog? The small dogs will bark and yip at everything. The large dogs are just cool and mind their own business. They know they can eat the little yipper so they are just don't even pay attention to them. Kinda like the little imports and the pony cars.

Just this morning a g37 raced from like 40-110 and I pulled on him pretty good. He rolled down his window and asked me why I don't show off my GT badges on my car and when I told him it was a 3.7 needless to say he wasn't to happy about being beat by a v6 mustang.

I think it's the fact that our car is murdered out gives other drivers the illusion that we have a 5.0L V8. Plus the dual exhaust doesn't help our case either. People don't know it's a V6 until they ask you. The G35/G37's are pretty chill here. I have to deal with FX35/FX37/FX50 assholes that tailgate me & "race" me.. I just chill and stay in the right lane.
