Steering wheel Locking Question

Does anybody else's steering wheel not lock when car is off and no key in it?

Haven't noticed, but with all my other cars you had to turn the wheel a few degrees before it locked.

there are positions it locks in, if you turn it it will lock (or should) after a bit 1/4 turn or less.

2012 V6 traded in for a 2017 VW GTI.

OK just checked and it does lock you just have to crank it hard for it to do so. It just dawned on me that it never locks. Nevermind.
