You will get used to it. And yes, believe it or not, the Mustangs do have a long front end. In fact, I had mine parked next to my wife's 300C the other day and both cars are about the same length, but you wouldn't know it when you get inside both of them. The hood on the Mustang is much longer.
It is no problem for me, as I'm used to cars with long hoods (Trans
Ams, etc.). However, based upon many Mustangs I saw while looking and used ones, many people have an issue with this, as many of them had dings on the front bumper or hood.
