Last night I was driving in snow with the traction control on. I notice that if the rear wheel spins, or fish tailing, while I was reving the engine, there is a strong burning smell even without the window open. It smells like something is super super hot, metal or rubber I can't tell.
Does anyone know what it is? Thanks
You are burning up your rear brakes!!!!!! Good God. That smell was your rear pads burning up. Traction control applies the rear brakes to control slide and to avoid spinning. It works in conjunction with the ABS system. That's why if you don't have ABS, you don't have TC......
