troubleshoot IAC idle problems 1996-2004
If you put the car in neutral while moving, what do the RPMs do? Use the brakes and come to a complete stop. Describe what the RPM's do as the car stops?
If the RPM's hover around 1000-1100 while the car is moving and then drop to 500-650 when it stops, this is NORMAL. It is done for SMOG reasons.
An idle around 2-3k while moving is NOT normal.
