#1 Buy one from Ford. Make sure when you remove the leaking one there is no residue in the seal relief. Its the area where the seal seats. Check for any scratches or gouges in the seal area. Clean the seal area completely with brake clean, let dry then wipe out the seal area. Ford seals come with sealer around the diameter of the new seal, added insurance apply a small dab of RTV sealant around the seal area with your finger just a light swipe. Make sure the new seal is seated flush and is not cocked or damaged. check the oil pan screws and make sure they are not leaking. Look straight up and check the rear of the manifold and also valve covers for leaks running down behind the block. If all is well and you work carefully your leak should be history.
