Refrashing the ignition system is the best you can do to increase mpg besides a CAI.

Porting and polishing a tb takes no time at all at home with a damn dremel. You sharpen the tb blade that faces incoming air, and port/polish the int. walls to increase mm and a mirror finish.

Seriously, its better than nothing..... and its free.....

Gears to increase performance....yes, but to also contribute to mpg its the worst thing you can do.
My apologies -- I shouldn't have "attacked" you. I just saw that you have a GT in your sig (we have some disruptive V8 owners that like to invade) and the "duh" comment kinda set me off. :p

But you are right: tune-up and the CAI are best for MPG.

...however, once I put on my CAI and heard the sound at WOT, I have a hard time keeping my foot off the gas -- hence, my mpg has gone down!
