1995 Mustang Torque Converter Issues
Ok guys, I'm not sure where to start.
My issue is that when I start the car, it runs fine. Once I put it in reverse, it wants to die, as if the torque converter is locked up and supplying too much torque.
If I wait for the engine to warm up a bit and put it in reverse, it wont die, but it will severely bog down and sound like its a diesel engine. but the moment I put it in neutral or park it idles fine.
I've been doing a lot of research and it points to the torque converter going bad.
I almost want to believe this, but I don't want to shell out the cash just yet on a new one if its something else that can be easily and cheaply fixed.
Is there anything else that could cause a similiar effect to this?
Is there some switch or something that controls when the Torque Converter locks up that has possibly gone out?
WMBurns, Where are you?? lol
Thanks for all the help guys.
