1998 V6 Mustang Bogging Down

Greetings everyone! I have been searching all over trying to figure out what is going on with my mustang, and hope that the members here will have a clue. Here is what I am experiencing.

Recently my mustang has been "bogging down" when trying to pick up speed if I press the pedal too hard. If I take it slow, it will pick up and get to driving speed eventually, but it takes a while (about a mile or so it seems). When the car is in park and running, I can press the accelerator and it seems to pick up alright, but will not do so on the road under a load. It will also bog down when going up a hill if I try to keep the constant speed. I have replaced the fuel filter, which when I drained it, there was considerable sediment in it. I have read that there could be power problems or fuel pressure problems, and I'm pretty much at a loss as to what I should do or which way I should go with this. Any and all assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
