Keep in mind that I'm an adult and not interested in building custom boxes anymore or losing all my storage space. I just want to find something to drop in & have it be out of the way. i'm fine w/ buying separate enclosure, subs, & amp. I just don't want to build the box & worry about making it pretty / the right airspace.
I am an adult also, and enjoy engineering my own solutions. As I was buying my components the shop warned me that a DIYselfer would probably not be able to build adequate boxes to house two 12's in the trunk of a mustang convertible. This is the kind of thing that gets me going, so now there is a challenge. Obviously for me wanting to install two 12W3's which each require a minimum of 1.2 ft^3, space in my trunk is not of concern. That said my solution would still allow for a decent weekend getaway for me and the wife. And honestly there is no need for two 12's, one would suffice which would give even more space. So last weekend i built two boxes for my '12 vert (they are about 1.27 ft^3 each), and with a JX1000 powering them, the sound is controllable from amazing to insane. here is what my boxes look like. Mind you I had them built and carpeted in one day. The rest of the amp / speaker install took another day.
2012 GT CS Ingot Silver Vert, Edelbrock E-force supercharger with CAI and 3.5 Pulley, Tremec T-56 Mag, Accufab 84.5, Centerforce DF, Billet Yoke aluminum driveshaft, FRPP 3.73 Rear, MRT Performance H-pipe, Bassani axle backs, JL Audio sound, Edelbrock strut tower brace, JPC adjustable UCA, UMI adjustable panhard bar, KW V3 coilovers, Steeda heavy duty front mounts, Steeda rear LCA's, 20" Steeda Spyders with Michelin Pilot Super Sports, Steeda Big Brake Kit ....... it just keeps going.
