It's a solenoid that keep you from shifting unless the brake is engaged.

The durango has a lot more mass . .. so it may be less noticeable.

Run it to the dealership for an oil change/checkup, and casually mention it without asking them to diagnose the problem.

It's probably the only way to find out if it's normal, or if something's wrong.

HArd to diagnose a noise when there isn't any way of hearing it.
