What transmission should I get

I have a 1996 mustang with a 09 crown Vic 4.6L motor, it has the T-45 transmission if I recall but about to drop some money to make that engine scream, what transmission on a budget should I get, or is a budget transmission out of the question.

What are you planning on doing to the engine? The T45 will hold up to whatever you do N/A, and likely with mild boost if you're still on stock internals.

Others experiences/opinions likely vary, but IMO the only time you really risk breaking a T45 or 3650 in one of these cars is in the hypothetical situation of high hp + high rpm launch + excellent grip and built rearend. Lotsa guys out there running 600 hp street cars with stock transmissions and no issues. Highly unlikely to snap an input shaft during a wot pull on the street.
