What’s the way to go here? $45 OPR or $25 Monroe?
The OPR’s had a few bad reviews.

Can't speak for either option; I'm still rocking the originals over here. But FWIW I looked around and found out that even though the lengths and strokes are the same, there's apparently a difference in force depending on whether or not the car is equipped with a trunk-mounted wing/spoiler.

With wing: 54 pound struts
W/O wing: 39 pound struts

Kinda frustrating that some listings don't mention which application they're for, or the specs on what you're getting.

Thank you so much. Mine will fall on your head. I saw one listing that said w/out spoiler but that’s the only one I’ve seen thus far that mentioned anything about the spoiler. I appreciate the LB specs. I was wondering what sort of pound rating to be looking for. It seems like most of the ones that I’ve seen don’t list the weight ratings. Or I haven’t been able to find it at least.

I just browsed Parts Geek again. Gee wilikers there’s a bunch of brands. Monroe is the only one that I’ve heard of and it’s “w/out spoiler.” I think I’ve heard of Sachs.. I wonder if they’re all the same crap aside from with or without?
I know one thing, that little trunk lid is a heavy bast*rd. Those obsessed with weight loss should skip the rear seat delete and just go ahead and do a trunk delete. Make it like a soft top Jeep. 😛

I have a 2000 Roush and it has a spoiler as well as a trunk lid mounted tool kit. I got a set from Late Model Restoration last summer and they work great. #LRS-40610BPR and they were $39.99.
