High mileage mustang?

I was looking at some 4.6 97-99 gts and I'm curious what you guys would consider to many miles. It seems like everyone on craigslist is selling them around 110k-120k miles. I'm looking to get one with around 80k but I'd like to know what the average life span of the engine is.

I bought my 2002 GT with a couple hundred shy of 74K miles.

Most of the others in my area within the 02-04 years had a range of about 20-35K miles, but I snagged mine for a decent price.

I didn't learn about the modifications made until after I bought it, which also strengthened the confidence in my buy.

Not looking forward to 4 more years of payments though. LOL

Its hard to say what's too many miles, highway miles are a lot easier on a car than city, and proper maintenance is a huge factor in longevity. Best bet is to look it over on a lift and check the compression.
