i thought so too, since thats what both the stangs i own came with 17x9s all around stock. i want to put a set on my 98 cobra, i think they look bad ass. especially when you lower it some. i just kinda wanted a little wider wheels in the rear, but im not sure if the 1 or 1.5 extra inches really makes that big of a difference.

wouldnt the wheels american muscle sells be considered knock offs and look a little different? i love A.M. but i rather have the wheels made by ford.

thanks for replying!

They may be knockoffs but if u want a oem look and want a wider tire ford did not make a 03 cobra rim bigger than 9inch. If u wanted 10s or 10.5 you have to go with a knock off. A friend of mine just put a set of 10.5s and 9 inch chrome 03s on his 04 gt. next to his brothers 03 cobra they look no different than the factory rims aside some wear. .

The OEM wheels are 9" up front 10.5" in the rear. I've got'em on my '02. Check out the pics. The look is killer and the handling in turns is like riding on rails.

do you think the extra inch or so makes a big difference in handling?
