The 03-04 Cobras were great cars. The come from the factory with a forged crankshaft and pistons. Stock they produce 390 hp. They respond very well to mods. It doesn't take too much to get them over 500 hp and 700 hp is very doable without touching the internals. They are also the only Mustang to ever come with IRS. Some people like the IRS, others despise it. If it is just a dd then there is nothing wrong with the IRS, but a lot of people who are serious racers end up converting it to a solid rear axle. If your looking for a fun car to mod or race, the Cobra is a great choice. I see it being one of those cars that can fetch some serious cash in future

Terminators are the ultimate mustang to this day in my opinion.

Black with saddle 1996 Mustang GT convertible. Manual. NPI, 2v 4.6L. Full bolt-ons.

As 05mystang said, They are probably the best bang for your buck mustang in existence. Tons of raw power, fairly reliable, great handling. And most importantly, 20 years from now the value of them will be going up and up. It'll be like finding an oldie with the 427 Cobra Jet in it. People always latch onto those special powerful mustangs, and the 03-04 Cobra "Terminators" will do nothing but value themselves. They are by far the best mustang in terms of bang for your buck.

That being said, the reason you are seeing so many, is that they aren't your standard daily driving cars. People are having to sell of their toys to make ends meet. Since Cobra's aren't practical (For reasons of fuel mileage) as DD's, they have to be sold. If you can afford to attain it, go for it!

2004 Sonic Blue V6 Automatic ~ Daily Driver
(Standard Bolt-On's) 20 MPG
2003 Torch Red GT Convertible Manual ~ Toy
(Looks good, Sounds Good) 20k miles

+1. The 99, 01 and 03-04 Cobra has them. The 03-04 came with 31 spline axles and the rear diff bar. Love the IRS but hate the added weight.
The Terminators are superior cars. 390 rated horsepower but once on a dyno, stock, it was known that they were underrated. more like 420-430 crank HP. A few simple mods and its not hard to be at 440-460rwhp. POSI port blower and you can see 500 or a little more rwhp. Get a TS SC or turbo and you can make some great power.
I can see where some sell it cause they can not afford the toy anymore. About gas...maybe, if they get on it all the time. I get 25mpg hwy and around 16-18 city. Less if i get on it alot. Alot of people buy a car, mod it or whatever, get bored and sell it. Been there, done that. usually regretting it. There are some great deals out there though. I'll never sell my 03 Cobra though.
