I recently came accross a really neat Ford accessory. It is a mini tonneau for the convertible. It covers the entire real seat and top. Never have seen one before. I ordered one and got it in less than week from my Ford dealer. The P/N is XR3Z*76501A42*AA. The price is $113.49. I drive a 2002 Yellow GT convertible.
also known as a styling bar if there is no brake lite in the bar
I dont think it would fit with a light bar or styling bar. They mount right at the rear speaker area, and the cover is right over that. I bet you could get it fabricated to fit. it doesnt look like theres too much vital contact at that point.
As to the tonneau owners: how long does this take to install? And will it fit in a trunk?
Black with saddle 1996 Mustang GT convertible. Manual. NPI, 2v 4.6L. Full bolt-ons.
The install is quick. You replace the screws along the front edge of the trunk opening with supplied snap heads. You snap the back edge of the tonneau at the trunk then work torwards the front sliding the plastic sewed in flat pieces under the trim and finally pull the tonneau tight and slide the large plastic pieces under the rear seat edge to hold everything tight. Really quick and easy.
