Help, speedometer pegged at 150MPH

my 2002 GT 5 speed has been stored on jackstands since december 1st 2011. I went out today to check what rear end ratio i had, and to throw the battery in it and start it up. when i started it up the speedo and tachometer were both pegged at their maximums. i gave it some revs once it warmed up and the tach reset itself and is now working fine. however the speedometer is still pegged at 150+ MPH (see the picture).

with the rear end still in the air i decided to slowly run it through first gear and second gear to see if the speedo would reset like the tach did, but it is still pegged all the way up there.

any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Unhook the battery for 10 minutes and hook it back up. The ECU should reset the cluster once you turn the key into the on position. If it doesn't work the first time, try again.
