Which Speedo Gear After 4.10 Install

As most of you know, I have a 98 Mustang GT Automatic. Which Steeda speedo gear do I need? 7 tooth or 8 tooth? Also, I've heard of the speedo gears getting "chewed up" after a few weeks. How do I prevent this, or what is the most durable speedo gear I can get?

Automatic 8-Tooth 4.10 Ratio / Black 23 Speedo Gear $15.95

It's a Mustang GT. A Ford product. Need I say more?

if you check your other thread (the installed oned) I posted a huge thing about this already....

your an auto you need the 23 tooth one, only problem is the 23 tooth gear ISNT a ford part, and gets chewed up after only a few k miles. its also one of the hardest things ever to find the correct combo of gears to be exact on your speed with the auto.

the best thing to do in your case is buy a speedcal.

Oh, I didnt notice. Sorry about that brother. Thanks for the direction. I have ordered a Speed Cal since it appears to be best practice. Thanks!
