Exclamation 2002 Mustang GT Hissing noise on startup/idle

When I start it up, the first 10-15 seconds are simple no hissing whatsoever.
Then the hissing begins:
This is how it goes...

After about 10 seconds after startup there is a "hiss" sound for about 2 seconds
then stops
Then another "hiss" sound for about 2 seconds
then stops
Then there is a continuous "hissssssssssssss" with no more pause.

Is this just a regular startup thing? I've never really noticed it before, I had the hood open today and decided to start her up, thats when I noticed the hiss.
Im not sure if this is anything to worry about, but could you guys help me out on this one?

If it happens after driving a bit in warm conditions, it could be the A/C dripping condensation onto the exhaust manifold. That's a known cause for hissing sounds with these cars.

When this happens, do you also have the defroster running? What you describe sounds like the a/c compressor cycling, and if the hvac controls for the defroster were set to "on" or whatever then this would make sense.

So uhhh, did you discover what it was that made you paranoid? Or was it your imagination? Finish the story.

The dude had 2 posts. He wanted an answer, and bounced. I bet you never hear from him again.

It's a Mustang GT. A Ford product. Need I say more?

I'm here to stay. But um, a few days after posting this I took it into my local shop to get everything looked at (I just bought the car a little over a week and half ago) and the guys there said everything was in good working order. So anyway, being a new owner to a mustang I wasn't used to all the sounds and all from the v8. It was just me, thats all.
