driveside manifold will stay cool to the touch no matter how long i leave it running.

Yes change your spark plugs/wires.

What year car? Not usual for 4 plug wires to go bad at one time.

I don't think a compression test would be a bad idea either...but it is most likely a spark plug, coil pack issue.

2001 Mustang Gt Bullitt, 105,000, mostly stock :nogrinner, 15% tint, led tail lights, Deep Dish Wheels, Nito 555's, shorty antenna, Head Turner.

96 to 98 had coil packs and wires, 99 to 04 had individual coil on plug. If it is the earlier, yes, I can see a coil pack going bad, especially if all is on same side.

Is that bank firing at all? If not your cam timing might need to be adjusted.

What if the cam isn't operating at all on that side? Highly unlikely, but what if the camgear is stripped or something? lol

Earlier I gave a simple answerer to a simple question. The OP needs to give a lot more detail on this subject. Was there any odd noises, or did it just happen out of the blue??

More than likely for on side to go dead the timing chain for that side has broke in half. And is nested somewhere in the front cover area, or laying in the bottom of the oil pan. Not sure if it really matters anymore as the OP has not been on here since he made the thread. I think we’re all just talking to each other.

On mine, and on alot of others in the 99-04 bracket, the issue was a cylinder 1 misfire

4.6L V8 - Completely Stock - 5 speed Manual - Parchment Top Color
