2v Build opinions

I am looking into forging/building my currently SC KB 2.8 02 Saleen.
Currently it has a KB 2.1/ Mammoth inlet making 466rwhp on a stock longblock. I can do one of 2 things with the build. Not adding in the actual build, here is what im thinking.


1. Simply add a 10% over crank ($440) and make Approx 18psi and make around 580Rwhp. By keeping the 2.1 I have to use stock ported heads bc of clearance issues.
2. Sell the 2.1 and buy a Hellion single kit and make 620-670Rwhp depending on pump gas boost levels. Kit appears to $5750 for my needs, add in selling my 2.1 for atleast $3,000, and comes to approx. $2,750. I can also use Trickflow heads with this build.


By going with a KB2.8 I am looking at spending an extra $800 and may have to loose my Saleen heat extractor hood which I don't want to do so that option is out.


So whats you guys opinions of power adder options?

I'll bump the thread for you bud but I don't have any direct experience with any of those setups.

A turbo will always be easier to make more power and if that's in the budget than I say go for the turbo.

What is the purpose of this car anyway?

build a solid bottom end then its pretty much whatever your wallet can handle. i like twin turbo rather then single but ether way is fine. if u are just trying to get more power as cheap as u can then just add boost and maybe some nitrous and u can get around 700. if u are looking to build a kick ass setup go turbo with trickflow heads. it can make as much power as u can handle and u can easily adjust boost so u dont have to run high boost all the time like on a P/D supercharger so its easier on your expensive engine. if your building a stronger engine i would look into stroking it to a 5.0 or around there. have u thought about a coyote swap? a coyote with a turbo setup can make some over 1000 h.p. u can get a coyote swap for less then a built mod motor

I LOVE the coyote power capabilities but it would cost me as almost as much to coyote swap my car as to build mine and make near 600 with my current blower.
Ive thought on it and it makes sense to forge it with more boost now, then swap cams and go turbo after the new power excitement wears off.
