I'm just gonna change the trans shift points tell it I have the compression boost the headers and cai and turn off my egr and I'm gonna get a real tuner to do the rest. I want a wideband but they cost a lot. can I make one using my rear o2 sensors? and I ment the rebuild kit my rear end does have a lot of miles on it I was wondering if Id see an improvement by putting the cobras carbon clutches in

Who is "they"? Why would they self destruct? Does the stock one self destruct?

See, "they" cause problems and I do not like "them".

The aftermarket gears are weaker than the stock gear but they dont self destruct. I would honestly just get the speed cal and call it good.

i ment other forums i use they for forums. anyway do you know where I can get a speed cal for cheap I may just use the speedo gear for a temp fix and add the speed call later. I'm also gonna do the jmod when I do gears. what are your recommendations on break in procedure for the new gears?

I beat the hell out of my car right after my 4.10s. I made sure there was no gear whine st any rom or accel/decel etc and then had some fun. 4 years later and a lot of miles they are still quiet as a mouse.

You think those shifts feel good, do the jmod and let me know what you think. All that programmer did was increase line pressure, the jmod actually makes changes to the hydraulics in the transmission. You wont need the "race shift" tune. Just increase the shift points.

so my nipple on the intake is broken. so I bought this pi intake from a 02 gt and I bought it without looking at it and got home and found the intake was missing pieces of the bottom crossover. so now I'm looking for a new intake I might go to the junkyard and pull one for 35 bucks. I might just put her down and go ahead and do the gears. I think I'm gonna get the speedo gear since I cant afford the speed cal and I want to rebuild my trac lock. I want to get as much grip as I can with the 4.10s. with the tune she feels much faster id say I'm atleast in the 5 second range for 0 to 60. I'm gonna go to the track this summer its only an 1/8 mile tho. hopefully rose will do well and I wont break anything. I'm gonna port my plenum a little more since I have new grinding stones.

You can fix that broken coolant nipple on the intake. Cut the other one flush with the intake and drill the hole out for a 3/8” barb fitting. It should be a 9/16” drill bit. The mix some jb weld and coat the threads on the barb fitting and thread it into the intake. Once it’s all the way down, put a nice coat of jb weld around the new fitting. Let that cure over night and then hook it all back up the next day.

Been there, done that. Gotta get out of a pinch quickly sometimes lol. Also, just so you know, the repaired intake is still going strong today and that was done over 3 years ago.

An extractor or weld another bolt to it. Do you have access to a welder?

Also, how do you plan to ship the pinion gear? And what is your plan for measuring shim thickness for the carrier bearings?

If youre installing all new bearings I normally set my pinion preload to 25 in lbs and I set my backlash around .006". Dont go any tighter on the backlash but I start a little tight so when the gears wear a contact pattern they loosen up just a touch and are still on the low side of the spec.
